 Lauren Smith and Mark Middleton pick English U19 National Title Congratulations to Lauren Smith who picked up her second English National U19’s title at the weekend. Lauren and her partner Alex Langley, who were unseeded at the event, overcame second seeds Alyssa Lim and Paunga Riou 21-16, 21-17 in the semi finals. In the final against Hayley Rogers and Helena Lewczynska they had a hard fought match edging it 21-13, 19-21, 21-12. Last year Lauren picked up the U19 National mixed doubles title. In the mixed doubles fellow VICTOR sponsored player Mark Middleton also picked up another title with mixed partner Alyssa Lim. They defeated Ryan McCarthy and Sophie Sankey 21-13, 21-8 in the final Calum Menzies overcomes the odds to become Scottish National Champion Well done to Calum Menzies who this weekend became Scottish National Champion for the first time at senior level. Calum who was second seed for the event, defeated top seed Kieran Merilies 21-16, 21-16 in the final. Menzies never looked back after sweeping to a quick 7-1 lead in the first set.
